Finally finished watching "The Impossible".
It's a movie that took me some time to build up the courage to watch.
2004 when Tsunami first hit, it tears my heart. News reporting on how many deaths and survivals across countries like Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Thailand, the damages caused by the wave and so on. It was devastated. Prayers and donations went out to those people and countries affected by the Tsunami with the hope that the tiniest contributions could make things better for them.
8 years later, director JA Bayona came up with the film "The Impossible" based on the true story of one of the survivors of the Tsunami - Enrique Alvarez and his family.
The film starred by Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor is in one of my must watch list. But yet I missed out due to some reason.
A year later, my cousin bought the DVD of this film. I stopped at the part when the wave hits the hotel where Naomi and Ewan check in. I couldn't watch. It was too... heart breaking to watch.
And today, I finally got myself enough courage to start the movie again.
Based on a true story. How people actually survived from this massive natural disaster. The hopes are at stake to be reunited with their love ones.
I cried throughout the movie. It was moving but at the same time heart breaking.
The true story of the survivals of this disaster was indeed moving. Yet, it is how they put in on film that raises a couple of questions in my head. So I started to Google the movie review and I found this, which gave me some answers to my question.

The storyboard is real. But it was the details that have been left out. That was why questions were running inside my head while watching the movie.
My heart goes out to all the Tsunami victims. Physical wound heals, but the scars left physically and mentally takes much more than just medicine and time. It takes courage as well.
Be brave and stay strong.
