Saya, Anak Malaysia

Hi, my name is Grace and I’m from a beautiful tropical country call Malaysia.

Malaysia is a beautiful country consists of 13 states and 3 federal territories.  There are 3 main races in Malaysia – Malay, Chinese and Indians. Yes, like US there was once that we had an internal war among our own races. Millions of people died and injured on that time and it is until now, the most heart aching memories for most of the Malaysians. Years gone by, and we all had learned our lesson through this heart breaking incident (we call it “513”) and have been living in a peaceful and harmony environment since then.

Malaysians love their country. It is a country rich with cultures and definitely a food paradise. We are proud to tell people that Malaysia is our home, where we grow up with so many different races of friends and we speak some of their languages.

But everything changes after yesterday……

Politics are usually something very complicated and dark. But in Malaysia, the only word we can use to describe the politics here is – Dirty! In this so call the “democracy” country, everything is control by this sole party – Barisan Nasional, what to air on TV, what to say and what not to say, what to read in the newspaper…… Basically everything.  Some said that this party even controls the election and the voting as well. I never really believe it but now I do, as it really happened and many Malaysians witnessed this issue with their own eyes.

5 May 2013, 29 million Malaysians have witnessed the dirtiest election in Malaysia’s history.

Case 1: Our country’s fate depends on the people from another country
Before the election, there were rumors saying that people from Bangladesh were being paid by Barisan Nasional to come to Malaysia to vote.

You must be curious, how come these people holding another country’s passport can cast their votes for another country. Well, surprisingly these foreigners were not only paid, but were also given a Malaysia identity card as soon as they reach our land. They were brought in by MAS airlines charted flight (MAS is an expensive airline in Malaysia and most of the people here choose to travel by Airasia – Low cost flight instead of MAS as we cannot afford the flight tickets) and escorted by our local policemen to the voting center.

Luckily some of our people are brave enough to volunteer themselves as Ghost-busters at the voting center to look out for these “ghost voters” and stop as many as they could. There are videos recorded by other people that our own local policeman actually help to make way for these “ghost voters” into the center even though other locals tried to stop them.

Case 2: Voting center never pay for their electricity bills
This seems to happen in every election. There are always certain voting centers never clear their electricity bills during the vote counting session. Malaysians call this “Magical moment”.

How magical it is? Simple. During the counting of the votes, all of a sudden the lights go off. While a recount is being perform in the dark, all of a sudden there appear another mysterious one or 2 boxes of uncounted votes. Where does these boxes of extra votes come from? How come no one sees it during the lights on?

Definitely interesting isn't it? So next time, if you decided to go for a magic show, look no where! Come to Malaysia during our General Election and experience the greatest magic of all time perform by Barisan Nasional.

Case 3: Unidentified bags of votes from the sky
Well, this was what I heard from my friend. At one area, all of a sudden there were 2 bags of votes being dropped from the sky down to the field. According to trustworthy resources, these bags of votes were carried out by people from Barisan Nasional with the intention of disposing it. They thought that the people down the field are from their own team. But no, people from the opposition party were down there and they got the bags and bring them to the police station.

To all non-Malaysian who are reading this, I’m writing it not because of I hate my country. I love my country too much and couldn't bare to see it is again fallen into the wrong hands. And these wrong hands do not win the election fair and square. FYI, millions and millions of Malaysians from all around the world came home to vote for a change, and yet they went home with disappointment.

And to all Malaysians, thank you for uniting and coming home from thousands of miles away to vote for a change. Yes, Malaysia government & Barisan Nasional have again brought us a huge disappointment with all their dirty tricks to win this election. But we shall not give up!

Rome is not built in one day, and so does the fight of democracy in Malaysia!  We shall keep on fighting and believe that one day, God will hear us and lead our beloved country to a better future!

Malaysia Boleh! Malaysian Boleh!
