The Forgotten

It was a gloomy Sunday at Genting, when me and my friends prepared to go back to Ipoh after a short nap in First World Hotel. The car park was kinda empty, compared to the day we reached (Saturday).

Cars wheeling down the exit corner of every floor, it was like everyone is rushing back to where they come from. As my friend's car drove passed the exit corner of the 2nd floor, something caught my eye: junk decors sat neatly at the empty parking lot. It seems like they were decors from last season: Santa Claus, incomplete Golden Ox, incomplete Rain-deers, incomplete sleigh......

Not too long until we reach the last exit of the car park. Near the corner of the exit, there sat a gigantic Santa Claus with a smile on his face. Unlike the other junk decors, he sat alone there at the corner. The faded colors of his originally bright color red suit, his damaged features makes his smile seems rather sad. That used to be the smile of joy & happiness, the smile of pride. Yet, those reasons to smile faded as he was taken out from the spot light, as he was being placed at where he is now, as he has been forgotten......

This is what we human and our memories do nowadays. We create new and fresh things to replace the old ones. Then we put behind not only those old staffs, but also those old memories. Walkman, Nokia 3310, who from my year or before doesn't play with these gadgets before? Do we remember those memories these old gadgets used to bring to us? How these old staffs put a smile on our face that time?

Old gadgets might be outdated, but how they used to be with us is not meant to be forgotten. Just like that gigantic Santa. It maybe been out aside, but as long as we remember the moment he shined, the smile that you saw on his face might just turn into a bright one =)

This is not the Santa that I saw in the parking lot. I didn't manage to get the picture because of the tiredness of yesterday's late night sleep >.<
Yet, this damaged Santa statue looks really sad, and it fits what I wrote.
